STUDENTS PEN WORDS THAT WALK....AND THE WINNERS ARE

In advance of our 2009 Buddy Walk we invited Capital Region students to participate in the first annual “Words that Walk” Summer Inspirational Writing Campaign. This summer, usually a time where students can get away from the homework and writing, the DSAHRC encouraged those willing to step up, to a seasonal challenge to help inspire their peers.

Students submitted various entries, from poems to songs....some short, some long. The paper (or the computer in many cases) was their canvas.

Judging focused on the criteria that the words should promote acceptance of all students – since each and every student has various strengths and in some cases, challenges – and help to inspire others.
